The Opportunity
In this role you as Materials Planner, you’ll be a key part of our Supply Chain team, managing materials ordering, liaising with suppliers and hauliers, and supporting production through effective inventory control.
This role is ideal for someone taking their first step into Supply Chain. You don’t need direct materials planning experience – although it would be a bonus – but what matters most is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Place and manage supplier orders in line with production demand
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, transport teams, and internal departments
- Use KPIs to manage stock levels, minimise waste, and support on-time production
- Communicate proactively about material deliveries, delays, and supply issues
- Work with MRP/ERP systems to support accurate inventory control
- Contribute ideas and solutions to improve efficiency and service
The Ideal Candidate

- No previous materials planning experience required – just a genuine interest in supply chain and a keenness to develop
- A team player who’s reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems is a plus, but not essential
- GCSEs or A-levels (or equivalent), plus a good standard of English and Maths
- Intermediate Excel skills
