The Opportunity
Join our Finance Shared Services team at Samworth Brothers, where quality, innovation, and people are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to support the Financial Accounting & Tax team, focusing on control, compliance, and continuous improvement across a range of business categories. As part of our General Ledger team, you’ll support ledger control processes, VAT returns, intercompany forecasting, and fixed asset management for a group of our businesses. You'll also get involved in wider financial compliance and improvement projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who is AAT qualified or working towards it, and who is looking to further develop their career within a forward-thinking finance function.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close across AP, AR, fixed assets, and general ledger.
- Prepare VAT returns and GRNI reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and manage depreciation, disposals, and annual verifications.
- Reconcile and forecast group intercompany positions.
- Support balance sheet reconciliations and various financial compliance tasks.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvements.
