As Group Health & Safety Director, you will lead our Group Health & Safety Strategy. Working closely with the Group Executive Board, Managing Directors and senior leaders, you will help create a culture where people take ownership of health and safety and look out for one another.
This is a high-profile leadership role. We are looking for an experienced health and safety professional who can set clear direction, influence senior stakeholders and inspire teams to achieve excellent safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the Group Health & Safety Strategy in line with business goals.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the Group Executive Board and Managing Directors.
- Promote a culture of strong leadership, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Work with senior leaders to make health and safety part of key business decisions.
- Ensure effective compliance, governance and assurance processes are in place across the Group.
- Build strong relationships with regulators and external partners, including the Health & Safety Executive.
- Make sure key business risks are identified, assessed and well controlled.
- Develop health and safety capability through leadership development, training programmes and competency frameworks.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health and Chartered IOSH status, or an equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience leading health and safety within a large, multi-site manufacturing, FMCG or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, governance and risk management.
- Experience developing and delivering business-wide health and safety strategies.
- A proven track record of influencing senior leaders and delivering cultural change.
- Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to combine strategic thinking with practical delivery and sound judgement.

Please note that travel to other sites within the Samworth Brothers Group along with contractor and retailer sites will be required within this role along with a regular onsite presence in Leicester.
