About The Role

As a Specification Technologist, you write and maintain product specifications to make sure all information is accurate, safe, legal and ready for customers. You work closely with Technical, NPD, Process and Procurement teams to gather the right data and ensure each product meets customer, legal and company standards. Your work helps products launch on time and ensures labels and information are always correct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, update and maintain customer specifications across the relevant systems.
  • Gather ingredient, packaging and process information from internal teams and suppliers.
  • Make sure raw material and packaging data is accurate before adding it to specifications.
  • Check product labelling and artwork to ensure it meets customer and legal requirements.
  • Support NPD handovers and collect the information needed to start new specifications.
  • Ensure all documentation is audit‑ready, well organised and accurately stored.
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to resolve specification queries.
About You

  • You will have experience of working with specifications within the food industry.
  • With a strong understanding of food safety, allergens, HACCP and customer standards.
  • You will be confident working with IT platforms, product data and supplier documents.
  • Bringing excellent attention to detail and a structured, organised approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with different teams are also essential.
  • An openness to learning which you will have demonstrated through continuous development/learning new skills
