The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Area Manager to lead production teams within our low‑risk food manufacturing environment. This is a key role ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality production while supporting, coaching and developing our people. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment and have strong experience with raw materials and food operations, we’d love to hear from you.
- Lead and develop production teams to deliver the daily plan safely, efficiently and in line with food safety, raw material control and quality standards.
- Oversee low-risk manufacturing processes, ensuring effective material flow, correct equipment setup and consistent adherence to SOPs.
- Drive food safety culture by escalating risks, halting production where required, and collaborating with Technical, Hygiene and Engineering teams.
- Monitor performance KPIs, analyse issues and deliver continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost and efficiency.
- Manage people processes including recruitment, training, performance, attendance, and wellbeing to build a motivated and capable workforce.
The Ideal Candidate

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in chilled or low-risk food manufacturing, with strong understanding of raw materials and production processes.
- Proven leadership experience, with ability to coach teams, manage performance and build a positive workplace culture.
- Strong working knowledge of food safety standards; HACCP Level 3, IOSH, and Level 3 Food Safety (or willingness to complete training).
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and maintain high operational standards.
- Able to work collaboratively across departments with strong communication, organisation and planning skills.
