The Opportunity
Are you a strategic procurement professional ready to make a real impact?
We’re looking for a Business Procurement Manager to join our Group Procurement team at Samworth Brothers, based at our Bakery site in Oak Meadow. This is a high-profile role where you’ll lead category management for key ingredient spend areas, drive supplier performance, and deliver value across cost, quality, sustainability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage ingredient sourcing strategies across the group
- Lead tenders, negotiations, and supplier relationship management
- Deliver strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Drive procurement KPIs including profit improvement, risk mitigation, and supplier non-conformance
- Represent Group Procurement at site and category meetings
- Champion responsible, ethical, and sustainable sourcing practices
The Ideal Candidate

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong category management and supplier engagement skills
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and project management capabilities
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- CIPS qualification and graduate-level education preferred
