The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Shift Manager looking to broaden your impact across warehouse operations? We’re looking for an Operations Support Manager to join our team in Leicester — a dynamic role designed to support and enhance operational performance across a range of key areas.
This is not your typical shift management role. While you’ll step in to lead shifts during peak periods, your primary focus will be on supporting the operations team with strategic and tactical improvements. You’ll be the go-to person for driving safety culture, leading energy reduction initiatives, and delivering operational enhancements that make a real difference.
- Health & Safety Leadership: Manage accident investigations, own safe systems of work, and lead safety improvement projects.
- Energy Efficiency: Drive the site’s energy reduction plan and monitor usage.
- Operational Improvements: Deliver tactical changes that enhance warehouse performance.
- Labour Planning: Own and optimise the warehouse labour plan.
- Peak Support: Take control of a shift during peak periods to ensure seamless operations.
The Ideal Candidate
We believe that success is built upon collaboration and diverse perspectives. At Samworth Brothers, we welcome candidates who are passionate about working together to achieve greatness. As a valued member of our team, you will bring the following skills and experience: -
- Proven experience in chilled or frozen food warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of warehouse systems, H&S standards, and food safety.
- A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- IOSH Managing Safely and HACCP Level 2 (desirable).
We also want you to thrive in an engaging and inclusive work culture where you will have the opportunity to take on personal accountability and take pride in your work. We encourage positive communication, and the building of strong collaborative relationships is essential to every role.
Join us at Samworth Brothers, where you'll be more than just a team member – you'll be an integral part of our thriving family. Apply today and embark on an exciting journey with us!
