The Opportunity
Do you have the leadership skills, technical expertise, and passion for creating a culture of safety and excellence? Join us at the forefront of food manufacturing safety as our Head of Health & Safety in the Protein Category. As the senior SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) leader, you'll drive the strategic development, compliance, and continuous improvement of H&S standards across our Protein operations. You’ll lead a team, influence senior stakeholders, and ensure that best practices are embedded at every level.
- Set the strategic framework for SHE management across the category
- Provide technical guidance and legal compliance support to senior leadership
- Lead SHE committees and champion a proactive safety culture
- Liaise with external bodies (HSE, EA, insurers) and internal teams (Engineering, People, Occupational Health)
- Conduct high-risk audits and drive continuous improvement
- Manage SHE training, incident investigations, and corrective action plans
- Support the acquisition of new machinery and capital projects with H&S compliance
The Ideal Candidate

- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) + IEMA Associate Certificate
- CMIOSH status preferred
- 3–5 years’ experience in SHE roles, ideally in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of ISO14001 and UK environmental legislation
- Confident communicator with influencing, negotiation and leadership skills
- Skilled in data analysis, project management and report writing
