The Opportunity
In this role you’ll act as the single point of contact for Tesco’s Technical Manager and natural working team, ensuring seamless collaboration across all stages of product development and lifecycle. This role is critical to strengthening our technical alignment and ensuring the successful delivery of product innovation (including NPD/EPD), Buy/Move/Grow initiatives, and broader FTG Tesco projects. You'll champion product quality, support innovation through concept to launch, and drive continuous improvement across raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
Key Responsibilities :
- Acting as the day-to-day technical contact for Tesco, providing updates on action plans, improvements, and issue resolution.
- Supporting the launch of new Tesco products, attending feasibility and handover meetings, and driving adherence to internal and external specifications.
- Investigating non-conformances and working with internal teams to deliver corrective actions.
- Participating in benchmarking panels, market quality reviews, and site visits to champion quality standards.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Commercial, NPD, Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
The role is across FTG Tesco producing facilities (Bradgate Bakery Madeline Road and Ashton Green LE4 and Manton Wood S80) and will involve travel across all 3 facilities on a weekly basis, and include at least fortnightly visits to Tesco HO.

- A degree in a science-based subject or Advanced Food Hygiene certification (minimum requirement).
- Experience in a technical or QA role within food manufacturing (chilled preferred).
- Proven track record working with Tesco or major UK retailers.
- A solid understanding of the NPD launch process.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently.
- A full UK driving licence.
