The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Specification Writer to join our Technical Services team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and compliant product specifications across a variety of retailers, including M&S, Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl, Costa, and Costco.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update product specifications for multiple retailers.
- Work closely with the process team to compile recipe and analytical data.
- Ensure compliance with food law regulations and retailer-specific requirements.
- Assist with artwork generation and approval processes.
- Coordinate tasks within critical path deadlines, liaising with both internal teams and external customers.

- Understanding of food law and meat quid requirements (training can be provided).
- Experience with at least one major retailer specification system (e.g., Co-op Core, Tesco TDQ, Waitrose WPP, M&S Find).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ideally, a degree or HND in Food Science (or a relevant skills-based background).
