This is a senior leadership role where you'll take ownership of engineering operations across the site, including maintenance, site services, and capital projects. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting business growth, improving reliability and efficiency, and ensuring our facilities and equipment perform at their very best.
Reporting directly to the Site Director, you'll lead a team including the Maintenance Manager, Site Services Manager, and Project Engineer, while collaborating closely with the wider leadership team to deliver Manufacturing Excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
- Create and deliver engineering strategies that support long-term business objectives.
- Drive improvements in asset reliability, maintenance performance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and manage a rolling capital investment programme, including major engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with all engineering, health & safety, environmental, and food safety requirements.
- Manage engineering budgets and identify opportunities to improve cost performance and profitability.
- Support sustainability initiatives through improved energy, water, and utility management.
About You

- Degree/HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
- Formal management qualification.
- Experience leading engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of maintenance strategies and asset management.
- Confidence managing performance, budgets and priorities.
- The ability to make clear decisions in complex, time‑critical situations.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, inclusive leadership style.
