About The Role

As an Engineering Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in keeping our sites running safely, smoothly and efficiently. You’ll lead an engineering shift team, balance hands‑on engineering with clear leadership, and help drive reliability, performance and continuous improvement across production areas.

You’ll work closely with Operations, Technical and Hygiene teams to make sure equipment is maintained, downtime is reduced and safety always comes first.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate engineers across your shift to deliver safe and reliable plant performance.
  • Keep equipment running efficiently through planned maintenance, fault finding and timely repairs.
  • Act as a visible manager on shift, setting clear priorities and maintaining strong communication between engineering teams.
  • Deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required, including leading meetings and covering absence.
  • Use engineering data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage labour and resources effectively to minimise downtime and meet production needs.
  • Ensure all work meets health, safety and food safety standards.
  • Contribute to projects, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You

  • You will have proven experience in a maintenance or engineering environment.
  • With experience of leading or coaching engineers in a fast-moving setting.
  • You will have strong electrical or mechanical knowledge (multi-skilled preferred), with a relevant qualification at NVQ level 3 or above.
  • Having confidence diagnosing faults and making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Bringing a calm, organised approach with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Being confident using maintenance systems and Microsoft Office / Office 365.
