The Opportunity

As a People Lead, you are a strategic partner to the business. You support leaders, help shape the culture and make sure colleagues have a great experience at work. You lead People plans, use data to guide decisions and help teams perform at their best. We are looking for someone to ensure that there are solid foundations and ways of working on which to build. You will have a team of 2 Business Partners, 3 Advisors and 2 Administrators as well as a Communications colleague. 


Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead People plans that support the Samworth Brothers Purpose, Culture and Values.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and managers.
  • Use People data to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Support leadership teams through change, growth and organisational development.
  • Champion a great colleague experience — focusing on engagement, wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Lead key People processes such as pay reviews, talent, succession and performance.
  • Support managers with challenging People issues, giving clear, calm guidance.
  • Promote values‑led behaviour and help build strong leaders and high‑performing teams.
  • Work closely with the wider People community to deliver group‑wide initiatives.
  • Represent the People Team in senior meetings and help influence key business decisions.
The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in People/HR leadership, at a senior or business‑partnering level.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or qualified by experience
  • Experience of using People data to guide decisions and show clear insight.
  • Ability to confidently coach, influence and lead
  • Ability to manage change, support leaders and solve problems calmly and efficiently.
