The Opportunity
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the day‑to‑day operations of your area, while also contributing to longer‑term strategic planning. You’ll be responsible for achieving daily production plans, maintaining the highest standards of GMP, and delivering against business KPIs. This is a key operational role where you’ll lead your department, drive performance, develop your team, and ensure we deliver excellence every day.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, motivate and engage your team through effective organisation, coaching, rotation, communication and performance reviews.
- Drive achievement of KPIs across production efficiency, people, quality and profitability through continuous improvement and the manufacturing pillar plan.
- Ensure a safe working environment with a proactive approach to health & safety.
- Plan and structure workloads, prioritising key tasks and monitoring progress.
- Co‑ordinate permanent and temporary labour within your area.
- Liaise effectively with other business areas to deliver against production targets.
- Monitor performance against targets throughout the day and take action where needed

- Experience in a supervisory or management role within a chilled food environment.
- Hands-on operational experience (department-specific experience preferred).

- A credible, resilient leadership style with the ability to coach and develop teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and think creatively.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles.
- Experience managing absence, performance and conduct.
