The Opportunity
In this role as a Raw Materials Controller/Technologist, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials meet specification and food safety requirements. Working closely with suppliers, operations, planning, and quality teams, you’ll investigate issues, manage supplier non-conformances, and support the introduction of new raw materials.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage internal and external incidents relating to raw materials, including spot checks, supplier non-conformances, and traceability checks.
- Carry out raw material due diligence testing, panelling, sampling, and trending of results.
- Support supplier engagement through visits, calls, and audits to resolve issues and improve standards.
- Work with Purchasing, Operations, and Planning teams to manage raw material and packaging challenges.
- Play an active role in the Aurora system project to improve traceability across the site.
The Ideal Candidate

- Level 3 Food Hygiene and HACCP (or higher).
- At least 1 year’s experience in a QA role within food manufacturing.
- A basic understanding of chilled, short shelf-life production and microbiology.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in working with suppliers and internal teams.
- A keen eye for detail, problem-solving ability, and flexibility to support business needs.
- A full clean driving licence and good IT skills (Excel and Word essential).
