The Opportunity
In this role as Project Engineer you will lead and deliver engineering capital projects that directly support the growth and operational success of our 2 Bradgate Bakery sites. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering our engineering strategy—driving continuous improvement, ensuring food safety and compliance, and enhancing our manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead engineering capital projects from scoping to execution, ensuring food safety, H&S, and budget compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Technical, Hygiene, and external contractors.
- Develop and manage annual capital investment plans and CI projects.
- Monitor engineering KPIs and create action plans to meet business objectives.
- Support and develop engineering teams through coaching, 1:1s, and succession planning.
- Deputise for the Project Manager when required, leading meetings and overseeing operational continuity.
The Ideal Candidate

- Proven experience in engineering project delivery, ideally within food manufacturing.
- Degree / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- NEBOSH/IOSH qualified (essential); Project Management qualification and Six Sigma (desirable).
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for continuous improvement and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
