The Opportunity
Join Samworth Brothers as a Senior Category Development Manager and play a key role in driving the category agenda within major retail customers. You’ll develop and deliver the category plan, influencing customer strategies to benefit both Samworth Brothers and shoppers. This leadership role will see you collaborating with commercial teams, managing customer initiatives, and maximizing sales and profitability in the savoury pastry category.
- Develop and execute the annual customer category plan.
- Lead range and seasonal reviews, category initiatives, and merchandising strategies.
- Drive promotional tactics and category performance tracking.
- Manage and develop a Category Development team.
- Ensure effective use of category databases like Retail Link, Dunnhumby, I2C, and Coop Hive.
- Lead customer engagement for category reviews, store trials, and rollouts.

- Significant category management experience in FMCG.

- Ability to present data effectively and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in project management and working with data sources such as IRI and Kantar.
