The Opportunity
In this role you will be responsible for leading and developing the Materials and Packaging side of the Planning Team at Melton Foods to deliver the forecasted business plan and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities :
- To drive people engagement across the Planning function to keep people safe, engaged and focused to deliver against the site’s strategy.
- Pro-actively manage and prioritise the daily workload of the Planners, communicating actions to relevant stakeholders to achieve KPIs in line with expectations.
- To provide an efficient and cost effective plan to all areas of the business relating to materials and packaging.
- To manage relationships with suppliers and work in a timely manner with technical teams on any non conformances raised. Reviewing Supplier performance with the team and developing a relationship with the supply base to mitigate shortages to our customers.
- Work closely with Intake and Despatch teams to maximise utilisation on site whilst monitoring stock levels and customer service (internal and external)
- To develop, manage and report a set of KPI’s against which the department can be monitored and improvements measured.

- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Experience of managing a team in a fast paced environment
- Experience of material or packaging planning
- Experience of managing multiple suppliers
- Experience of Power BI is desirable and Excel knowledge would also be beneficial
